Flyers
Sometimes printed, often posted digitally, and always needed to promote a show, flyers are a must-have for any event. Thankfully, I’ve gotten so many opportunities to highlight the latest happenings in my town. Every band/promoter has different needs that I have to meet, but highlighting the necessary information and making it eye-catching is always a must.
Challenge
Most of the flyers I’ve done have been for local alternative bands, lending itself to experimentation. My flyers set themselves apart by marrying uniqueness with legibility, making them effective and eye-catching.
The Process
Though my clients hire me for my unique style that is heavy on distress and mixed media, I often adjust depending on the client’s genre. I research on that genre’s art style and take inspiration from old flyers from the punk and hardcore scenes.
The Result
For the gigs I design flyers for, I tailor my style to match the genre of the bands and the vibe of the event, ensuring the design resonates with the right audience. This approach has led to great engagement on social media and increased event attendance, as the flyers successfully capture the energy and aesthetic of the performances. My attention to detail and ability to adapt my design style has earned me repeat clients and positive feedback from both the bands and attendees. The flyers have become a key tool in driving buzz and reinforcing the identity of the events, contributing to their success.
